HTC’s official COVID-19 Response Plan

During this challenging time for everybody, HTC has stopped non-essential Tree Care operations until April 15th. On this date, all our crew members would have been in self-quarantine for 21 days so unless there is an enforced lockdown on civilian movements we aim to restart our service at that time in earnest.

As the health and wellbeing of our clients, employees and the public at large are of the utmost, we have reviewed our policies & procedures and made adjustments to ensure that we are limiting personal contact and implementing best practices throughout this situation.

 We would like to emphasize our concern regarding the transmission of COVID-19 and explain what we are doing collectively as a team to prevent the spread;

• Our team is small and none of us have traveled outside Canada in the past three months.

• We perform our work outside and for no reason need to enter your home or business or have any direct contact with clients or neighbours.

• We have supplied each truck with hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes which are to be used constantly throughout the day. Gloves are to be worn all day.

• Clear guidelines have been given to all team members to practice safe social distancing and to not approach the client or neighbours. Everyone on the crew is in their vehicles and will have their lunch off-site.

Site visits, quotations and consulting

 • You have the option of a drop-by or in-person visit we will not knock on your door but will phone you from the outside upon arrival.

• Joseph or Luke will respect the 2m distance recommendations. We will not shake hands with you or exchange business cards or paper quotes.

• The quotes will be sent by email or articulated to you over the phone once the visitation is completed.

Completion of work

When the crew arrives they will call you instead of knocking at your door. If there are details to discuss they will ask you to join them outside.

The crew will maintain a 2m distance and will not shake hands with you.

Once the crew has completed the project they will call you to ensure you are happy.

Flexible Payment Plan

If the COVID-19 outbreak is having a financial impact on you and your family, we would be happy to discuss flexible payment options.

Due to the constantly changing global situation and the imperative to “flatten the curve”, we will continue to monitor the information provided by public health officials as it pertains to Ontario and make changes to our work schedule as required.

All the very best of health to you, yours and the rest of the World too.

Warmest regards

Joseph Gillingham

Cat Rescue #30ish!

Another Cat rescue to add to our list of triumphs!

“Hey, so I have been called by a total stranger to come and get this cat that no one knows who it belongs to on a Sunday afternoon. Its been up for two days, we don’t know its name, It’s white with a black tail.

So it’s a family day, with three kids and my wife, and we are rescuing this cat!”

The happy stranger.

The happy stranger.

Plant Appraisal Qualification Course

Last week Heritage Tree Care Inc. attended the Plant Appraisal Qualification Course imparted at Whitby, Ontario.

The course was thorough and interesting. The guide given is a very helpful tool for plant appraisal. In the Urban forestry industry, it is very useful to know how to define reasoned judgments about the value of trees and landscape plants. This helps us to become better arborists.

Congratulations to Elle Solmaz, the winner of 2018’s Polish Festival Competition. Enjoy your new local wood table!

From the thousands of entries last year, trying to guess how many wooden ‘cookies’ were in our jar there were some that took this very literally…

While others may not have gotten close but gave us a good laugh!
